Ultra Hybrid Modular 750W ATX

by Gareth Von Kallenbach

With the power demands of the modern video cards and systems of today it is vital that PC users get a solid and dependable power unit to keep their systems running well. With so many units on the market it can be tough for less experienced users to know what to get as they often have to rely on price, power, and personal recommendations when selecting a card.

This however is only a small part of the story as factors such as power rating, modular design, noise output, and oh yeah, warranty and reliability all factor in as well.

The Ultra Hybrid Modular 750W ATX  unit is one that we recently evaluated and we found that it performed very well. Previously we had evaluated units from Antec, Cooler master, EVGA and others but this unit had an effective mix of performance and affordability going for it.

Designed for use with Windows XP-8, the unit installed easily and has a very good airflow system thanks to the large fan (135 MM) that is built into the top of the unit. The system ran quietly with the new unit installed and the provided cables were easy to set up though I would note that some users with larger cases such as some Cooler Master ones may need to work with the cable length in a larger case.

The unit is also energy efficient as it offers an 80 Plus Bronze rating which is great for those who use their system a lot and for long periods of time.

The unit has a 24 pin connection to the motherboard and a 36 month warranty which combines to make the unit a very solid and affordable option for those looking to upgrade their system and have peace of mind that they will not have to worry about the unit once it is installed.

With a winning mix of design, power, and performance, and affordability this is a very solid and so far dependable unit that should take care of your power needs without crushing your budget.
